A heavy pall of fear and despair has fallen over Tel`Vinrae, and especially over the Canals district, once home to Jamara Khalim, an ajit child murdered by a supernatural being. Gossip has it this being, named by the heroes fighting it Apollyon, cooked the child's organs from the inside out while she was still alive, and caused her to vomit them forth into the street. Covered with steaming maggots, the innards rapidly decomposed as the smell of death filled the air, and the child, by some horrible magic still living, even without her body's working parts, writhed and twisted in agony, weeping as she gazed at the rogue named Adira, before finally expiring, her head exploding in a shower of gore.
Word spreads that one of the Heroes, called Alexandria, let slip that this creature's freedom was her fault. That she openly admitted it! Angry words, full of fear and uncertainty, surround her name whenever it is spoken.
Some say Adira managed to kill the monster when it attempted to do to her friend Darja as it did to the child. Others insist they have continued to see strange things, and hear strange things, and none can deny the warm summer wind still frequently carries the scent of burning carrion.
What is this Apollyon? Who is he? Where is he from? Why was he freed? And is there any way to stop him?

*Rather than hiding from her responsibilities, Alexandria Constantina called a meeting in the city square, spreading flyers far and wide. She set up a small dias so she could be seen, dressed in her formal robes trimmed in silver. She asked one of the senior priests to pray for her, giving her a boost of her charisma just before appearing before the people gathered. Some were angry, some confused, not knowing what to think of this girl who had nursed the plague victims, comfomforted them in grief and now this rumor that she was the reason a child had died? "I know you must be wondering what this is all about. The rumours you have heard. That I freed a creature from his prison and he took the life of a little girl. All that is true.
*There was a murmur of confusion and anger.* But let me tell you the full story so that you may know. This being is a deceiver. He lies. I don't think it is capable of telling the truth if he tried. He hoodwinked all of us, taking the form of a little girl's ghost named Polly. She was shackled to a stone surrounded by undead. The Sigils and I dispatched the undead and in finding her she expressed the wish of joining her mother in the Divinity's arms. I sought to only make her passage easier by putting a droplet, all I had left - of holy water on the crystal. But the crystal shattered suddenly with the coming of a creature of shadow with glowing eyes of red. He blamed me for freeing him from his prison by the little smudge of holy water. I have talked to many since then and their consences is...It didn't mean a thing. The creature could have broken the rock with or without it.
For many nights we have pursued this shadow beast. Myself, Darja, Saraswati, Adira and Amilia. It was responsible for telling a little girl in the voice of her father who had passed on that she could fly. Sister Emilia caught her just in time. But the creature then immoliated her while we watched. We could do nothing, we had no time. But the quick thinking of Adira wounded him! He knows his time is short. He knows he can be destroyed. In fact he begged a friend to shelter him from further harm and in exchange he would make her a royal!
But he is dangerous, like a cornered rat. If you hear anything that seems suspicious, do not believe it. He will do anything to deceive you. With your help we can defeat him!
Now, good people of TelVinrae, do we have your support? Yay or nay!

A tall Eladrin woman was leaned up against the Charred Sigils building as she smoked a tobacco stick... She was a lithe creature, almost strange in her heavenly beauty. She wore a pair of breeches belted by a utility belt and sturdy boots, a black tunic tucked in with the sleeves rolled up, and over that a leather vest with many straps and pockets - little trinkets and tools sticking out here and there. Her hair was like spun gold, her skin pale and her eyes a deep green...
She listened to the woman as she spoke, her brows furrowing in thought. Most might have laughed at the thought of Demons - something so dark and cruel that was capable of this sort of thing - it, well, it hasn't been seen before has it? Though most held skepticism... She seemed curious - her head canting to one side as she watched her. When Alexandria finished her public announcement, she slowly approached her.
She didn't say anything at first, just offered her a very small smile as she reached into a pocket and pulled out a parchment business card. "If you find yourself having... difficulties with this... thing." She offered a small smile again, bowing her head while looking over Alexandria before she dropped the tobacco stick and smushed it with her boot... She disappeared through the doors of the Sigils.
The business card read, "Ser`asa Fendris - Machinist/Inventor - Charred Sigils - Building #23"
