Rumors spread that Lord Torvald Sunderoak recently entertained a family of Gnolls at Sunderoak hall. Fed them his food and wine, held council with their elder, and in the end accepted their allegiance. Even allowed them to settle on the family's lands west of the city. Has the wise old Omicron Lord at last lost his mind? Everyone knows Gnolls are mad, cackling, bestial predators.
Right?
Maybe it has something to do with the recent plague. Could the gnolls have brought the sickness?
Or maybe the gnoll elder [folks said he looked like some kind of shaman or wild priest!] was asked to search for ways to heal the blighted lands around Derbinshire, the Sunderoak's seat of power. . .
People are still at a loss. But with the new peace treaty and the newly sealed city gates and docks. . .there are bigger things to talk about.
