An announcement has been made at a just outside the gates of the Silver Palace by the Council of Baraldamere.
The Imperial Nation and the Brothers of Barald have come to an agreement. A declaration of peace has been officially signed between the two sides.
"Lord Barald and the Emperor have finally agreed. The war has gone on too long. A peace has been made that will unite the Empire and the Omicron Nation. They will join forces to work together to put rest to the Burning Wastes. This is to mark the dawning of a new era! Both Imperial and Omicron people will at least be able to live amongst each other.... in peace."

Despite not being affiliated with one side or the other, the orcish Twinaxe Bal'jek applauds this motion of peace -- the antagonistic relationship was obvious even in the smaller villages he's seen on his pilgrimage... and if two known bitter sides can come to peace over something like this, perhaps there's hope for the rest of Mileria as well to live together in peace and prosperity for all...

Spica ponders a few things, like going over old Omicron war records .. and going to the Burning Wastes to help put it out.

Hearing that peace seems to be winning out. Faeeniel is also happy for it. Though the Omicron people scare her, she would also travel to the burning wastes to see if there is anything she can do to offer her aid. She would soon get together with Spica and discuss the possibilities of a small party going together.

Devon Sunderoak throws a party late into the night on the day the news is announced. Many local Imperial officials are invited, as well as Omicron. Casks containing the favorite brews of east and west alike are broken open, and their contents shared generously. Venison steaks grilled slow over hickory, apple wood and mesquite join sweet rolls dripping with honey and butter in the bellies of old enemies now become friends. Many a song is sung, many a drinking game played, and as the Sunderoak lordling revels with his guests, he jests that with no Imperials to worry about he may soon have his sword "Martyr's Blade" beaten into an enchanted plowshare with which to plow the barren lands fertile again.
Some of the other Omicrons are a trifle testy about the speed with which Devon extends the open hand towards the West's ancestral foes, while some Imperials are suspicious of alterior motives. Most are pleasantly surprised that he is so quick to forgive and forget, considering what a fierce patriot he is.
It is a well known fact that the Sunderoak family, once holding lands deemed the breadbasket of the west, stand to regain much of their former glory if efforts to restore the land are successful.

Devon Sunderoak advises Faeeniel that his family will likely be working closely with the Imperials in the efforts to explore and heal the Burning Plains, and offers to take her and her friends along with any expedition attempting this.
