TYPE: Light/Simple PRICE: 4 GP DICE: 1d8* PROFILE: Piercing MULTIPLIER: x2 Weight: 2 LBS
Bayonets can be affixed to the muzzles of heavy crossbows or heavy repeating crossbows, which allows the wielder to use the crossbow to attack in melee much as if the weapon were a spear. Normal bayonets cause a -1 circumstance penalty to the wielder's ranged attacks with the crossbow, as they throw the balance of the weapon off slightly. Masterwork Bayonets are more finely crafted, and do not cause such a penalty.
Affixing or removing a bayonet is a full round action that causes attacks of opportunity. When not mounted on a weapon, a bayonet uses 1d6* as it's damage dice, as it does not have the added weight of the crossbow's stock behind it.

I believe bayonets are already allowed equipment from the Complete Scoundrel book. Other items are allowed, and it's basically attaching a weapon to a crossbow. I'll submit this to the DM team but I don't think there's a need to vote since it's already allowed.

Indeed. Double checked it there, and and checked with the DM team -- they're already allowed.
So...
Thank you for the suggestion! We already allow the bayonet in its current form in Complete Scoundrel, so you'll be able to use that in any of it's incarnations.
