Prophets are often hated, especially in their own communities, and Aelastria the Pure was no different. As a half-elf, she was a product of two worlds but truly at home in neither, so she devoted her life to the service of the Empire. However, as she entered adolescence she began to have strange visions - waking dreams where she saw the empire in flames and dark shadows moving across the landscape. She did not know what evil was promised but she did know that she would have to do everything in her power to prevent the calamity that she foresaw.
She joined the military, quickly rose up the ranks, and earned to ear of many prominent politicians. However, the politics of she saw in her own raise to power made her realize that the Empire would bring the coming darkness upon themselves. When she suggested that they seek peace with their neighbors rather than conquest, her former allies turned upon her for "heresy". She burnt at the stake and her loyal companions were routed.
These days, her ideals live on in the Order of the Eternal Watch. An errant band of holy men and women, they travel the world in search of rights to wrong driven by the virtues of Law and Good liberated from the shackles of nations. While most believe the prophecy that Aelastria for saw was creation of the Burning Plains, the Faithful whisper of other evil their founder prophesied...

Men and women from all walks of life are accepted into its ranks but one is expected to hold the ideal of the Order above their religion. There are three tenants seen are particular important; the protection of the innocent, vigilance against evil, and the destruction of wickedness when it is discovered. They have a particular hatred towards the undead, especially the Everburning which rose after the Battle of the Scarlet Plains.
