A character that is Shugenja must be Chen Kai and requires a background & build approval submitted to the DM Team for vote prior to sanctioning.
Sorcerer-priests, shugenja are masters of the elements. Alien in the lands of Meleria, they often often viewed in the same way sorcerers or warlocks unaffiliated with the Academy are and seen, at best, as an unsavoury fringe element of society. While they may be respected among their homelands, those that find their way to Tel Vinrae are far from home.
