Name: The Deceiver
Portfolio: Darkness, Lies, Subterfuge, Trickery
Alignment: Neutral Evil
Domains: Darkness, Evil, Luck, Trickery
Holy Symbol: A grinning, tusked smile, white as ivory, on a field of black.
Favored Weapon: Spiked Chain
Description: The only real portrayal of the Deceiver comes from the faithful of the Slaughterer, where it is described as either a giant spider or a gaunt, sickly orc. The actual faithful of the Deceiver rarely portray their preferred entity in any consistent form if they do at all.
Overview of Faith: While cunning is appreciated in orc culture, cleverness is often seen as a weakness. Thus, even among their own people, the followers of the Deceiver are reviled. However, as it teaches that true strength lies not in physical prowess but manipulation of the strong, it still has a pervasive influence on orc culture. Some outsiders even theorize that orc culture is so violent because of the paranoia of chieftains that they are being manipulated by followers of the Deceiver.
