This is a feat I think would be a great help to necromancers who would like to make use of the Skeletal Minion variant.
I can remember on an adventure one such necromancer loosing the minion because of friendly[?] fire from a nearby sun cleric.
This feat strengthens the Skeletal minion somewhat, making it sturdier, more useful, and a more attractive option for necromancers willing to burn a feat for it.
Improved Skeletal Minion
Requirements Skeletal minion class feature, Arcane Caster Level 3rd.
Benefits Your skeletal minion gains an intelligence score of 10, allowing it to learn skills, take feats, and solve problems on it's own. It may speak one language that you speak of your choice. Additionally, it gains Turn Resistance +4.
However, if the Skeletal minion dies, you suffer an XP penalty in exactly the same manner as a wizard that looses it's familiar, and cannot summon another one for a year and a day.

Unfortunately, the Skeletal Minion ACF is something that is a blessing and a curse. The skeletal minion gains advancement alongside the Necromancer, therefore I find this Feat a little... well, overpowered.
