After searching all morning for a location to start her homeless shelter. Captain Pearl finally located a perfect spot. In the residential district. She was seen there today, speaking with the owner of said building, some people say, discussing prices for the building it's self, and renovations. Some people also say that the figure she was given was quite high, just short of five thousand gold.
To confirm this, Captain Pearl has put up bulletins all over town with the cost, and plans she has for the building, asking for kind folks to donate if they were able. She even said mean folk can donate to. She hopes to have the homeless shelter open sometime this year.

While many people are espousing the generosity and benevolence of the ship captain, others still... have spoken against the building being put up in the residential district. So many homeless people... unwashed, unkempt, and potential thieves... people are scared for their families, especially many that have just recovered after what had happened with their own children *returning*. 'Why should we let the homeless just wander about our homes?' 'If they really wanted to be decent people they'd be working towards it, not just standing about asking for handouts.' 'Keep em in the Knot; we don't want 'em here!' 'What would a ship captain want with a homeless shelter? She'll never be there to run it!'
It's a small voice to be certain, but it *is* a voice. Not everyone wants this shelter to be built... for homeless to congregate in one place, people known for begging, or harassing, or even thieving? Who would want that to be brought to their homes? Their lives? The lives of their friends and neighbors?
And while nothing has been done yet... that voice... is there. And it's not going away.

To those people the captain says how it is. "Maybe if they weren't turned away from every job they applied for they wouldn't need to beg for hand outs. Do you think they delight in smelling, and degrading themselves...or dying in the streets. If they could get an honest job most of them would. It's people like you lot that makes them stay on the streets in the first place, and what about the children sleeping in alleys getting sick and dying of starvation? Is that okay for a whole future generation to die just because their families can't find work? What is wrong with you people. Sure some of them might steal...but -most- of them are just trying to survive. You all should be ashamed of yourselves for the way you are acting." She shakes her head in disappointment a look of disgust falling like a shadow upon her features. "I will continue my plans to build the homeless shelter, and your bullying won't stop me. These people deserve a chance at life. I suspect if you were in the same position you would be against it."
Then she got mad. "As for me running it...I am going to hire trust worthy individuals to make sure it runs smoothly, as well as some muscle just in case scuffles break out. I am not as absent minded to start and not leave someone in charge."
