Whispers of Freedom...

Pamphlets are found upon the doorsteps of families in omicron neighborhoods throughout Tel`Vinrae. They are marked by a peculiar seal. . .an eagle with it's wings spread gripping eight roses in one claw, and a sword in the other. Below it lays a pile of broken shackles, and it's razor beak is oped wide in a defiant cry.
Within, written in both Milerian and Velithri, are the following words:
Omicrons. My brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers. My kin. For over a century we have as a people waged a long war for freedom. We fight for freedom from foreign powers that would claim our substance, when they do not know our ways. That would claim our loyalty, when they do not follow our goddess, the Lady of Steel. That would claim our land, when they do not work it. That would impress our sons and daughters into their army, when they should be starting families and plowing fields. For over a century, we have fought them to a standstill. We have retained our freedom. But we have not known a rest from war, or a true end to this bloody conflict.
Tell me, my kinsmen. Why is it we have not been victorious? Are there no strong arms in the west? Are there no brave hearts? Is there no steel? Do we lack horses? No. For all worldly things pertaining to war, we lack nothing! Yet still we are denied victory, and denied peace to live as we wish. Still in the far north, where neither burning waste or Eladrin land blocks the clashes, our people bleed and die. And here, in Tel`Vinrae, battles fought in the shadows cast a pall upon all our lives and our safety.
Why is this? Does our Lady not love us? Does she not lend us her strength for our struggle? Yes! And yes. It is by her good graces we have endured as long as we have. But the reason we have not truly won?
Slavery.
We, the children of the Lady, have taken up her name, offered her our prayers, and claimed her favor in a just cause to ensure our freedom, but have spit in her face and mocked her by ourselves keeping slaves! True. Many have committed crimes against their fellow man. Many have given up their right to freedom by taking the life or liberty of another. But many innocents, women, and children, who have commited no crime but to be poor, or to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, are bound in chains, torn by whips, and forced to labor against their will for the dreams of another, whilst their own lay in shambles.
While there are those who have known nothing else but servitude, and might be even be treated as family by their masters, while there are those who might even wish to remain enslaved; there are far, far, more who chaff under the iron bonds of their masters. There are far more who cringe beneath the cruel crack of their whips! There are far more children whose innocence is lost, and whose hearts are broken; because they are treated as common animals for the satisfaction of their master's foul lusts!
My Omicron kin, my family! THIS OUGHT NOT TO BE! The Lady has denied us victory not because we have not fought against the Empire's Tyranny. The Lady has denied us victory because we have not fought our own! Freedom is the birthright of all, no matter what race or culture. It is only by granting that birthright to all who desire it that we, and they, may truly be free.
I call all together who are of like mind unto myself. Let us gather together this Valdaei [Saturday] at noon, at the Main Center, and let our voices be heard! Let us take counsel as brothers and sisters and mothers and fathers, and work to right this great wrong, that our people, and the world, may be freer and brighter and better, and our sons and daughters may know PEACE!
