The Laws of Tel Vinrae are very different than laws found throughout Milerian holds. The Eladrin believe themselves above murder and torture for crimes, finding criminal death distasteful. Though the price for crime differs in severity, what is considered crime is low in rate. Surprisingly, there are no gallows to be found, nor is there a Hangman's noose. Ironically, most of their laws are established to protect honourable Eladrin, who are considered higher in status than those deemed as Outlanders. (Anyone not Eladrin).
Their laws are posted outside of the city entrance as well as scribed upon marble plaque in the Market square and before the Silver Palace before the Door of Madness, as reminder.
Where Banishment is determined the punishment, often there will be an option given of equal severity to the choosing of the Offender or Offended. The Door of Madness, as most call it, is a 10x10 set of doors that are built into the stonework ground. They are made entirely out of obsidian. When open, the crude stone steps lead into the Understone - which is rumoured to be a place only of death in the cruellest degree. It leaves the Banished to their own devices and vile ways, living amongst the darkest creatures and cannibals of the abandoned Dark Elven denizen. Cut-Throats and other traitorous criminals are thought to be some of the kindest dwellers within the Understone. When Banishment is determined, many from across the city will come to bare witness to this rare event.

- If one speaks poorly to a nobleman or Fair Folk, blasphemy, or anything that could be deemed as poor conduct or treasonous, their tongue is to be cut out.
- If one rapes a woman, he is to be castrated. The rape of a noble Eldarin results in castration and Banishment.
- A coveter loses his eyes.
- To those who steal, they shall loose their right hand.
- A betrayer of contract's punishment varies in degrees, judged by the Council.
- If one murders another of Honour, he is to be Unwritten and Banished.
- Treason always results in Banishment.
