Question about Perform income?

I couldn't find the section for it, but I think the rule was you get it in character? Not alot of people get on throughout the day, on occassion maybe 3-5 roleplaying right before I head to bed. Would I be able to post on "play by play, or rumorus" to see if npc's would give gold?

I was just looking at the d20 rules for it and when taking ten i get 21 perform. Just curious. Thanks for taking your time to read this. I know we have a few minstrels.
