This district is were the majority of the cites poor and working- class citizens live. Those who toll day to day in the finer parts of the city usually end their evening among the clustered houses and stacks that were once meant as temporary shelter for migrant labourers. Over the years these homes have been added to and built upon with sometimes four or more families living above another. The mismatched shapes and colours - as well as placement in cramped spaces - create a strange maze of alley ways and stairwells. At times - if you are not careful - you will find yourself standing in someone’s front yard. Deadman's Knot feels like a city within itself; though not fenced off from the rest of Tel Vinrae, Deadman's Knot looks out up Astabar Bay - merging with the Dockyard. At night, a large portion of the Black Market trades take place here. Many people in other parts of the city cry for a better housing situation for the poor... and of course many people also make the suggestion of just burning the filthy eye sore to the ground. However, the people who live in Deadman's Knot are almost fiercely proud of what little they have and would defend their homes fearing that without them they would find themselves living on the other side of Tel Vinrae's Wall.
